DOHA: The Qatar Chamber (QC) discussed on Sunday ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise between Qatari and Korean companies in agriculture and food security, in a meeting with a Korean delegation representing the Experts Team at the Hyundai Research Institute (HRI).

The meeting was attended by QC board member and Chair of the Food Security Committee, Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, and Byung Haak, Director of the Business Development Department at PlanTfarm.

The meeting aimed to explore the Qatari market and investment opportunities in these sectors, as well as what Korean companies could introduce to the Qatari market.

Speaking at the meeting, Al Obaidli highlighted that Qatar has made significant strides in the fields of agriculture and food security. He emphasized the Chamber's support and keenness to enhance cooperation between Qatari and Korean companies in this regard.

He noted that Qatar is a leading investment destination in this sector, indicating that it could serve as a hub for the entire region in terms of food security.

In turn, the head of the Korean delegation emphasised the significance of the Qatari market and reviewed the technological developments his country has achieved in agriculture.

He expressed eagerness to strengthen cooperation between Korean and Qatari companies in developing technology related to agriculture and food security.
