Qatar's third-quarter (Q3) Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices (known as real GDP) grew at an annual rate of 1.9 percent to QR208.92 billion, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS) said on Friday.
Real GDP saw a real boost on a monthly basis as well, growing 5.5 percent compared with the second quarter of 2017.
Meanwhile, nominal GDP saw a growth of 7.4 percent in the third quarter on annual basis, reaching QR151.7 billion. Compared with the second quarter, nominal GDP in the third quarter grew 3.9 percent.
The nominal Gross Value Added (GVA) estimate of Mining and Quarrying activities is estimated at QR50.17 billion in Q3, which shows an increase of 14.6 percent over the estimate of Q3 2016 placed at QR43.76 billion.
Compared with the previous quarter revised estimate, this shows an increase of 8.1 percent in the GVA of that sector.
Meanwhile, the real GVA of these activities in Q3 2017 is estimated at QR102.78 billion, which shows an increase of 0.2 percent over the estimate of Q3 2016 (QR102.59 billion). However, compared with Q2 2017 revised estimate, there has been a rise of 6.6 percent in the real GVA of this sector.
The nominal GVA estimate of Non-Mining and Quarrying activities is estimated at QR 101.54 billion in Q3 2017, which shows an increase of 4.1 percent over the estimate of Q3 2016 (QR 97.52 billion). Compared with the previous quarter (Q2 of 2017) revised estimate, an increase of 1.9 percent has been recorded.
The real GVA of these activities totalled QR106.14 billion in Q3 2017, which shows a growth of 3.6 percent over the estimate of the corresponding quarter in 2016 (QR 102.46 billion).
However, compared with Q2 2017 revised estimate, the real GVA of Non-Mining and Quarrying activities have increased by 4.5 percent.
