The Ministry of Labour (MoL) held on Tuesday a ceremony to honour the trainers and trainees of the first career camp for university students, which was organised by the MoL in cooperation with the Interprofessional Education Student Association at Qatar University (QU). The camp was held in partnership with the Qatar Career Development Centre and was sponsored by Ahli Bank.

The ceremony was attended by Shaikha Abdulrahman Al Badi, Assistant Undersecretary for National Workforce Affairs in the Private Sector, Malak Al Hajri, Director of the National Workforce Employment Department, Saad Al Kharji, Director of Career Programs and Services at Qatar Career Development Centre, and Dr Abdulla Al Mansoori, Executive Director of Qatar Career Development Centre, and Abdulrahman Mohammed Talfat, Director of the Department of Qualifying Skills Development.

The initial university student vocational camp, spanning five days, had the objective of empowering soon-to-graduate students by equipping them with the essential skills required for the job market, familiarizing them with the various aspects and prerequisites of the labour market, directing them toward vocational training, and presenting opportunities within this field.

The camp offered a wide range of hands-on professional workshops, diverse activities, and on-site visits to gain insights into the working environment. This significantly boosted awareness regarding the significance of self-improvement, bolstered self-assurance, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. It facilitated the application of acquired knowledge and skills in real-life projects and interactive workshops, ultimately leading to the acquisition of robust professional competencies applicable across various domains.
