Dr. Omar Al-Ansari, president of Qatar University (QU), received Prof. Jie Qiao, executive vice president of Peking University and president of Peking University Health Science Centre. The meeting, included several senior officials from QU Health and HMC, including Dr. Ibrahim Al-Kaabi, vice president for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Asma Al-Thani, vice president for Health and Medical Sciences. It aimed to discuss further collaboration opportunities, as well as the potential for student, faculty and knowledge exchange. Following the meeting, guests commenced a specialized tour of the QU campus including QU’s health services and facilities.

Dr. Omar Al-Ansari welcomed the delegation emphasising the importance of collaboration in higher education and health. Dr. Omar Al-Ansari noted that students would greatly benefit from opportunities such as this one, as student exchange opens the door for diversification, opening new horizons and allowing students to interact with different cultures.

The meeting included many professionals in health and other fields from China, including Prof. Qiudan Sun, director of the Office of International Cooperation, Peking University Health Science Centre; Prof. Yong Jiang, vice president of Peking University Dental Hospital; Prof. Zhiming Fu, deputy dean of the School of Foreign Languages of Peking University; Xiaojia Li, associate director of the Office of International Cooperation Peking University Health Science Centre; Jian Wang, deputy director, President’s Office, Peking University Third Hospital; Xin Miao, physiotherapist, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Peking University Third Hospital; Yuan Liu, deputy division chief, Division of Exchange, Office of International Cooperation Peking University Health Science Centre; and Guotao Li, director of International Communication Office, Peking University Dental Hospital.
