The Embassy of Japan in Qatar organised two cultural events at Katara Cultural Village as part of Katara’s activities during the Asian Cup – Qatar 2023.
On January 20, the Japanese comedy film “Neko Ninja” was screened in cooperation with Japan Foundation. The Film had a large turnout and was favourably received by the audience.
On January 23, the Embassy co-organised a Kimono Show at Al-Hikma Courtyard, in cooperation with members of the Japanese community in Qatar. The two events were designed to highlight and promote the rich Japanese culture among the people of Qatar while celebrating the Japanese team’s participation in the Asian Cup.
In this regard, Ambassador of Japan to Qatar H.E Satoshi Maeda, remarked “The goal of these events is to forge new bonds, and discover the threads that bind us together in keeping with the spirit of the AFC Asian Cup. Asia Cup, is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the unifying power of sport by bringing together nations, cultures and individuals in a spirit of friendly competition and mutual respect.”
