DOHA: Director of the Media Development Department at the Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) HE Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Thani has honouredAl Jazeera’s Gazabureau chief Wael Al Dahdouh, who is receiving treatment in Doha.
Sheikh Khalidoffered his condolences on the death of Al Dahdouh’s wife, his two sons - Hamza and Mahmoud, his daughter - Sham, and his grandson - Adam.
Sheikh Khalid also reassured the health of journalist Al-Dahdouh, who is receiving treatment in Doha, following the injuries he suffered while covering Israel's bloody war in Gaza, stressing his full support and solidarity with the family in their affliction, and providing all forms of support and embrace for them.He also appreciated Al Dahdouh’s exceptional performance and his bravery with Al Jazeera teams, media professionals and journalists, during the distinguished media coverage of the repercussions of the aggression on Gaza.
Sheikh Khalid noted the great sacrifices made by media professionals and journalists in Gaza, and the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of them, as a price for conveying the truth and the repercussions of the aggression on the residents of the Gaza Strip.
He confirmed that the efforts of journalists and media professionals working under the siege and aggression against Gaza have had a significant impact on the international level in showing what is happening on the ground, including crimes against journalists and civilians.
Al Dahdouh thanked Sheikh Khalid, stressing the commitment to continuing the professional message, and said that his injury will not stop his determination to return to the field of coverage after completing the treatment period.
