Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater has demanded an accelerated and obstacle-free humanitarian aid delivery and adequate aid supplies into all Gaza Strip areas.
Speaking to the BBC, Al Khater said that less than 100 daily trucks had entered the Gaza Strip, a stark decrease compared to the Strip’s urgent aid supplies and the daily 400-- 500 aid trucks that used to flow into the Gaza Strip before the October 7 Israeli aggression.
The arrival of aid to Egypt’s El-Arish city is the easiest part of delivering aid from around the world into Gaza, she said, highlighting that the many obstacles created by the Israeli entity in violation of Article 59 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which obligates “the occupying power, in this case it would be Israeli occupation, to ensure adequate aid supplies and aid schemes”.
Commenting on the food, medical supplies, and other materials included in the aid, Al Khater said the aid supplies range from basic needs of the Palestinian people and items that can be dispensed with in the current phase, and this is what is being done at present, Al Khater said.
She stressed the keenness to deliver urgent aid, particularly medical and food items, to the Palestinian people.
Qatar is constantly reviewing the necessary and actual needs of the Palestinians, so that it can bring in the aid that the Palestinian people in Gaza actually need, she added.
