DOHA: Under the patronage and presence of Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohammed AI Attiyah, and the presence of Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohammed AI Kuwari, Minister of State for Internal Affairs HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al Thani, the Military Medical City Hospital was inaugurated, on Wednesday.

The project was launched to provide the best medical care to QAF, military and security entities affiliates and their families.

The project includes 14 buildings with a total area of 110sqm, as well as an integrated building for outclinics, an integrated emergency building, 10 operation rooms, 36 ICU rooms, 400 patient rooms, a rehabilitation centre, and an ambulance helicopter landing spot.

After unveiling the plaque, the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of State for Defense Affairs, along with the ministers and senior commanders and officials, toured the sections of the hospital. A video was played on the stages of construction of the project, in addition to a briefing on the command and control centre.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Lt Gen (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabet, Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces, HE Lothar Freischlader, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the State of Qatar, and several senior officials and commanding officers in the country.
