The Military Medical City Hospital was inaugurated on Wednesday under the patronage and presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah and in the presence of Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari and Minister of State for Internal Affairs HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al Thani.
The project was launched to provide the best medical care to Qatar Air Force (QAF), military and security entities affiliates and their families.
The project includes 14 buildings with a total area of 110 square metres, as well as an integrated building for out-patient clinics, an integrated emergency building, 10 operation rooms, 36 ICU rooms, 400 patient rooms, a rehabilitation centre and an ambulance helicopter landing spot.
After unveiling the opening stone model, the deputy prime minister, along with their excellency the ministers and senior commanders and officials in the country, toured the sections of the hospital. A video was played on the stages of construction of the project, in addition to a briefing on command and control centre.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces HE Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabet, Ambassador of Germany to Qatar HE Lothar Freischlader and a number of senior officials and commanding officers in the country.
