DOHA: The Qatar Red Crescent Society began implementing a relief project in the Gaza Strip, in partnership with the Education Above All Foundation.

The Red Crescent explained, in a statement on Saturday, that the relief project aims to distribute ready-to-eat meals to the affected, displaced, and people with disabilities in the Gaza Strip, noting that the project costs more than $503,000, of which $100,000 is a contribution from the Education Above Foundation.

The statement added that the representative office of the Red Crescent in Gaza is supervising the implementation of the project, which comes as immediate relief support to those affected in the Strip by providing life-saving aid and creating new job opportunities for youth in the region, in addition to supporting the local economy by promoting small projects.

It pointed out that so far, ready-made food meals have been distributed to 61,750 beneficiaries in several areas in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, as part of the project, which also aims to distribute heating blankets to those affected in shelters for the displaced, in addition to providing mental health services and psychosocial support.
