Stafford Sri Lankan School Doha (SSLSD) scrabble team bagged trophies at the recently concluded Oman Scrabble Championship held at ABA IB World School in Muscat, Oman. The SSLSD team comprising 14 members was led by Ushara De Silva.
Spot prizes for high score and highest word score for all age categories were won by the SSLSD team. Teachers in charge Prashanthi Weerawardane and Mahesha Rathnaweera competed in the masters game where Prashanthi secured the fourth place and won the prize for the highest word score of the tournament scoring 109 points for the word 'unlikes.'
The first place was won by Megel Barker of Oman while the second and third places were won by Sanath Hemachandra of Sri Lanka and Paul Richards of Australia respectively.
