PLACE Vendôme, a $1.25 billion mixed-use development by United Developers, partnered with Vogue Paris to host the 2nd Vogue Paris Fashion Festival last November. The two-day event was held at the iconic Hotel Potocki and welcomed some of the world's most important fashion figures, CEOs, designers, models as well as fashion enthusiasts.
The year 2017 marked the second year of the Vogue Paris Fashion Festival. The event gathered together the fashion industry and the public to offer talks, conferences, masterclasses and interactive styling sessions. Attending experts included Nadja Swarovski, Karl Lagerfeld, Michael Burke, Alber Elbaz and François-Henri Pinault, among others.
Vogue Paris is published by Condé Nast International, a long-time partner of Place Vendome. The two power-houses have collaborated to co-host several events in the past, most notably the 95th Anniversary of Vogue Paris and the Condé Nast International Luxury conference in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as the launch of Vogue Arabia in Qatar. Marking the centenary of the birth of Irving Penn (1917-2009), one of the greatest photographers of the 20th century, Vogue Paris and Place Vendome Qatar have as well, hosted an exceptional event during October's Paris Fashion Week gathering a crowd of A-List guests celebrating this unique exhibition and the talented artist.
This latest partnership was an opportunity for Place Vendôme to elevate Qatar's profile as a major player and contributor to the global luxury market and to reinforce Place Vendôme's position as a groundbreaking example of entrepreneurship, vision and execution.
"The Vogue Paris Fashion Festival is an exciting platform that welcomes both industry experts and enthusiasts to celebrate their passion and exchange creative ideas about the fashion industry," said Sean Kelly, Project Director at Place Vendôme."As a premier luxury, lifestyle and leisure destination, Place Vendôme was pleased to represent the blooming Qatari fashion and retail market at an international level and introduce the world to its unique offerings."
The Place Vendôme development draws inspiration from the famous Parisian high-end shopping street, Rue de la Paix, of which Place Vendôme is the starting point. Slated to open in 2019 the 1,000,000m'b2 project will host Le Royal Meridien Hotel and serviced apartments and a luxury collection hotel. This will be in addition to a mall featuring up to 600 different retail outlets and a central entertainment amphitheatre. Place Vendôme is set to bring a unique experience of fine fashion, luxury, lifestyle and architecture to the Middle Eastern region.
