Occupancy rate at The Pearl Qatar is increasing at a decent pace despite the ongoing siege, a senior official of its developer United Development Company (UDC) has said.
Talking to Qatar Tribune on the sidelines of an event to open eight 'Points of Use' facilities for workers located across the man-made island, UDC Executive Director Commercial Abdulrahim al Ibrahim said the occupancy rate at the man-made island has been increasing as many new towers are now open to be occupied.
"The number of inhabitants at The Pearl Qatar has reached 30,000 as many contractors have completed their projects and are leasing apartments, villas and other facilities to domestic and international customers," Ibrahim said.
"While we are focusing mainly on people residing in Qatar, response from international buyers are also very encouraging," Ibrahim said.
The Pearl Qatar has attracted investors from 53 different nationalities, he said, adding that the UDC and other contractors working on the island are reaching out to all markets across the world to attract the attention of investors to the world-class residential units at the iconic artificial island.
Despite the blockade, Ibrahim said, all projects on The Pearl Qatar are going on as per schedule.
Work is going on in full swing to complete Al Mutahidah Towers, he said adding that UDC has begun selling phase one and phase two of the project.
Other phases will be released soon as The Al Mutahidah Towers project is expected to be complete as per schedule, he said.
Once completed, the Al Mutahidah Towers will comprise connected buildings with 480 high-end residential units, including studios, luxury apartments and penthouses.
Ibrahim said work on other commercial and residential mega-projects being developed on Porto Arabia, Viva Bahriya Towers, Qanat Quartier, Abraj Quartier, and Medina Centrale is also going on at full throttle.
