MES Indian School marked Qatar Environment Day on February 26 with enthusiasm and dedication. Throughout the month, the Campus Care Force has been organising a series of events, including a ‘Best out of Waste’ exhibition and a cleanliness drive, as part of it. The school also maintained beautiful gardens in all sections of the campus.

On the occasion, Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar planted a tree, in alignment with Qatar’s mission of planting 10 million trees. She encouraged students to actively engage in environmental conservation and sustainability efforts in their daily lives. Dr Kadar urged students to become stewards of the environment by cultivating good habits, such as avoiding the use of plastic bags, minimising food waste, and embracing recycling practices to build a greener tomorrow.

Certificates were awarded to students to recognize their active participation in the Qatar Environment Day activities. The teachers who oversaw the events included Jency George (Overall In-charge, Campus Care Force), Shailaja Nishad, Sneha Ramachandran Pillai, Sibby Shaji John, Bitty Varghese, Lancy Vitus, and Syeda Amina Fatima.

Overall, the Qatar Environment Day event successfully embodied the motto of ‘Better environment, better tomorrow’, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness within the school community.
