"Gymnastics is a very interesting sport and we want to make people see it as such. We are going to teach people some elements of the sports like balance and how to do some movements," he said, adding that the event will also feature a presentation aimed at introducing young people to the sport as well as some acrobatic displays from professionally trained athletes.
"We intend to have various activities including floor exercises, rhythm gymnastics, fitness training and others on the sidelines as well. Our programme is for the entire family and we have a series of activities for everyone in the family," Hitmi further said.
Applauding the NSD, the QGF head said it was one of the best things to have happened to sport in Qatar.
"The NSD is not only helping in promoting health and fitness but it is also helping to further cement the widely acknowledged and accepted role of Qatar in promoting sport globally. It is a first of its kind initiative and the results and impact is for all to see," he said.
