TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORKDOHARegistration to become a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM volunteer will close on Sunday, July 31, with interviews scheduled to be completed by August 13 - 100 days before the tournament.FIFA and Qatar are looking for 20,000 volunteers for the Middle East and Arab world’s first FIFA World CupTM, which will be held in eight state-of-the-art stadiums from November 21 to December 18. Volunteers will be at the heart of tournament operations, assisting in 45 different functional areas and playing over 30 different roles.The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM Volunteer Programme, which began in March this year at Katara Amphitheatre, has interviewed thousands of candidates from more than 170 countries since the Volunteer Centre opened in Doha in mid-May. Volunteers who have actively supported FIFA tournaments organized by Qatar, such as the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020TM and the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021TM, are conducting the interviews.People interested in volunteering should follow the below steps: Register at volunteer.fifa.com and fill in the application form Play “Take on the Trials” (an online gamified assessment) Book your interviewVolunteers must be at least 18 years old by October 1, 2022, speak English, and be available to work a minimum of ten shifts during the tournament. Candidates should be aware that some volunteer positions will begin as early as October 1.The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM Volunteer Programme is the largest in the country’s history, with the goal of uniting people through football to deliver an exceptional tournament that celebrates love for the game while showcasing the true spirit of Qatar.
