THE Cultural Village Foundation celebrated successfully the last day of the seventh edition of Halal Qatar Festival.
This event aimed to raise public awareness on the old and best practices in livestock breeding, which forms part of the Qatari culture.
The festival focused on educating the youth about the different types of cattle in Qatar and the livestock auction.
Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti expressed his pride of this year's festival saying that it is witnessing development year after another."The focus this year, was on the planning of the festival and diversifying the activities reflected by the number of participating shops and local producers, especially activities for the children," Dr Khalid said.
He added that the variety of activities targeting children drew more attention from families visiting the festival every day in large numbers and spent time with their children having fun and acquiring knowledge.
The festival included Al Mazain competition, a beauty contest for sheep and goats. Awards were given out to winners of this competition.
The livestock auction was a very unique activity during the festival which witnessed a great turnout by local and regional breeders. Distinctive sheep and goats were sold in large numbers in an ambience of joy and entertainment. (TNN)
