QATARI-Moroccan Joint Supreme Committee on Monday held its seventh meeting under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco Saad Eddine El Othmani. The meeting was held at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between both countries and ways to boost and develop them in various fields, which promotes strategic partnerships between both countries and meets the aspirations of the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani and HM King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco.
The meeting also touched on the latest regional and international updates and developments, especially the crises witnessed in the region. It also discussed the international efforts made to combat terrorism and the ongoing coordination taking place on the matter, and the importance of continuing these efforts to bring peace and establish security and stability in the region. The meeting also reviewed a number of topics of common interest.
The PM and his Moroccan counterpart signed the minutes of the seventh meeting of the Joint Supreme Committee. They also witnessed the signing of a number of agreements, programmes and memoranda of understanding between the governments of both countries.
An agreement on an executive programme for the industrial cooperation agreement for 2018-2022, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on establishing a joint ministerial trade committee, a cooperation agreement in the traditional industry field, and an MoU to prepare, train and qualify human personnel to work in airlines, ports and airports between the Mohammed VI International Civil Aviation Academy and Qatar Aeronautical College were signed.
In addition, an MoU in the agricultural field, an MoU in the housing field, and the sixth executive programme for educational, cultural and technical cooperation for the academic years (2017-2020) were signed.
Both sides also signed second executive programme for youth cooperation for the two years (2018-2019), the fourth executive programme for media cooperation, a supplementary protocol on the supervision and control of financial institutions on the MoU between Qatar Central Bank and Bank Al-Maghrib and an MoU in the cooperation field on exchange of financial investigations related to money laundering and terrorism financing between the Financial Information Unit in Qatar and Morocco.
