QNA DohaThe Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Joint Rainfall Emergency Committee, has affirmed its readiness to manage situations during rainy season for this year, by making all preparations and providing work teams, equipment and mechanisms to check water logging in various regions of the country on a timely basis and around the clock.Based on continuous coordination with the Meteorology Department and following up on its daily bulletins, an official source in the committee explained that after the rainfall has been predicted on Thursday, work teams, vehicles and necessary equipment were distributed to various areas of all municipalities, adding that waterlogs were immediately withdrawn, especially in some areas of Al Wakra and Al Rayyan municipalities.The main operations rooms at the ministry’s unified call center received public reports about rainwater and immediately transferred them to designated emergency rooms in municipalities to deal with them, while coordination is also being made with security authorities about traffic regulation to facilitate the process of withdrawing bodies of water.The committee has also worked with municipal parks departments to remove any trees that have fallen due to wind and rain, as well as the General Cleanliness Department to clean all roads after waterlogs have been removed.The Joint Rainfall Emergency Committee of the Ministry of Municipalities recently discussed the necessary preparations, equipment, and mechanisms for dealing with bodies of rainwater in accordance with the necessary plans to ensure that withdrawal operations are carried out as quickly as possible during and after the rainfall.The committee also addressed the mechanism for receiving reports in the operations room, by receiving phone calls through the unified call centre at the Ministry of Municipality (184) around the clock.All the relevant authorities in the country represented by the directors of services departments in the municipalities, as well as each of the General Cleanliness Departments, are participating in the committee, in addition to mechanical equipment, customer service, the unified call centre, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), the Ministry of Interior, Lekhwiya Force, the Qatar Armed Forces and QatarEnergy.
