AHMED Bin Mohammed Military College on Wednesday held the fourth military colleges' forum under the patronage and in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohammed al Attiyah.
The two-day event was held under the title, 'Academic military education in light of the current challenges'.
The forum, which is witnessing the participation of eight major countries from different regions around the world, aims to join efforts and establish important partnerships as well as strengthen cooperation with colleges in the friendly countries with advanced expertise in the field of military education.
The participating countries are the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Turkey, France, Canada and Malaysia.
In his opening speech, Commander of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College Major-General Fahad Mubarak al Khayareen stressed the keenness of the college to hold the forum on a regular basis because of its importance in promoting discussion and dialogue with other colleges to meet the challenges and propose solutions and proposals on military education. He said the forum represents an important cycle of development support and future prospects in the field of academic military education.
Khayareen stressed that the candidate student is the goal of the college and its main task is to develop his performance and upgrade his military and academic level to become a qualified decision-making leader equipped with the latest methods of training, knowledge, science and values of loyalty to the homeland. He noted that the college benefited greatly from the outputs of the previous sessions of this forum in various aspects, foremost of which is to take into consideration many recommendations in the continuous development of military and academic programmes to meet the standards recognised in the academic military field.
On his part, Dean of Academic Affairs at Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College Dr Khalid bin Nasser al Khater said the academic and military programmes at the college are at the highest level in the world, noting that this distinction came as a result of the various partnerships with other military colleges, through which the college succeeded in facing many challenges and finding solutions to the problems encountered.
Khater pointed out that academic military colleges in various countries of the world, including Qatar aims to graduate a committed and qualified officer capable of decision-making, who has many scientific and cultural skills, stressing that this is what the Qatari Armed Forces do.
