Silatech has signed three agreements with United Nations Women, Al Amana Microfinance to finance youth entrepreneurial in Morocco, and Somali youth initiative (Horn Progress) to launch programmes in Sudan, Morocco and Somalia.
The three agreements signed by Chief Executive Officer of Silatech Sabah al Haidoos seek to provide alternative and innovative solutions to combat marginalisation, unemployment, extremism and terrorism, as well as to enhance food security and empower women.
Operations Manager at UN Women - Sudan Country Office Darren Peters said,"The partnership between Silatech and UN Women will improve women's access to and the use of new technology and services to gain acceptance by the communities, with improving their access to markets and financial services."
Chairman of Al Amanah Ahmed al Ghazali said,"Al Amanah Microfinance seeks to be an active player in economic and social development through its financial integration tools that help young people enter the microfinance market."
Silatech has collaborated with Al Amana Microfinance in Morocco to expand its outreach to young people and facilitate access to funding opportunities. The project will create 684,000 jobs for Moroccan youth.
The third agreement signed by Mukhtar Ali Yousif, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Somalia to Qatar on behalf of the Somali Youth Initiative of Horn Progress aims to train young people in Somalia on sustainable agricultural practices. As many as 7,500 youth will be trained on sustainable agricultural practices and technologies in order to reduce reliance on rain-fed agriculture. The initiative is expected to create 15,000 jobs for youth in the agriculture sector, including returnees from refugee camps in the neighbouring countries.
Sabah al Haidoos, CEO of Silatech, said,"The organisation will continue to launch innovative initiatives that empower youth to advance their communities in line with sustainable development goals, and the strategies of their respective governments.
