Qatar Chamber (QC) strongly supports any efforts that will lead to achieving integration among Arab chambers of commerce, its Director-General Saleh bin Hamad al Sharqi has said in Cairo.
"Qatar supports the efforts to enhance Arab cooperation," he said while addressing the 45th session of the Arab Labour Conference, which will run until April 15.
The QC delegation included its head of legal department Abdul Aziz al Kuwari besides Sharqi. The Chamber represents Qatar at the conference on behalf of the Undersecretary to the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Yousuf bin Mohammed al Othman Fakhro. It comprises Qatar Chamber as a representative of business owners and Qatar Petroleum as representative of workers.
In statement, Sharqi said the conference discussed a number of topics, including the report of the Director General of Arab Labour on the dynamics of Arab labour markets, transformations, and paths of progress, and the social responsibility of private sector enterprises, productivity and roles in improving competitiveness and increasing growth.
The conference will also discuss the 2017 achievements related to labour and relevant topics as well as composition of institutional and regulatory bodies at the Arab Labour Organisation.
In addition, it will review the activities and achievements of the organisation in 2017, several reports on the results of the 37th session of the Committee on Freedom of Association, progress in the implementation of the Arab employment contract and on Arab women's labour affairs, as well as the draft plan of the organisation"Arab Labour Office.
