DOHA: Minister of Municipality HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah has honoured severalministry’s distinguished workers in appreciation of their efforts and valuable contributions to providing the Ministry of Municipality’s services to the public, on the occasion of International Workers’ Day.
The Minister of Municipality expressed his thanks and appreciation to the workers for their efforts in maintaining the cleanliness of cities and the safety of Qatar’s environment, wishing them a happy day on the occasion of celebrating International Workers’ Day, stressing that they are considered an essential element in maintaining the cleanliness of all areas of the country.
The honouring ceremony was attended by EngAbdullah Ahmed Al-Karani, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Services Affairs, several general directors of municipalities, and some department directors in the ministry.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Municipality pays great attention to supporting the workers, as they have provided them with many services and care, including providing integrated and ideal service housing in which all important services and facilities are available, in addition to modern means of transportation, as well as appropriate and distinctive clothing that suits the nature of the atmosphere in Qatar.This is based on the Ministry of Municipality’s keenness to support the labour groups who represent a large segment of its cadres working in various fields, and whose total number reached6,330 workers, distributed across municipalities, beaches, and others. Public cleaning workers reach about 3,180 workers, while municipal workers reach 1,889 workers, in addition to 416 workers in the Department of Mechanical Equipment and 171 workers in public gardens and parks, in addition to 674 in the rest of the departments of the Ministry of Municipality.
