Under the gracious patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Racing Club, and amidst a large audience presence at the showground in the club, the fifth and final round of the Qatar Freestyle Drifting Championship for the 2023-24 season came to a thunderous conclusion.

Over 55 competitors competed for more than five hours showcasing their driving skills, each given a chance to perform a set of movements within a specific time frame.

The club opened the track on the previous Monday (May 29), for an open day allowing the racers to practice championship movements and perform them perfectly. Additionally, Thursday, the second of May, was dedicated to registration and technical inspection of the participating cars, ensuring the presence of certain essential elements for safety, both related to the car such as the roll cage and battery installation, and the driver such as the mandatory helmet and other safety factors.

The competitions for the final round kicked off on Friday and witnessed strong excitement that held the audience’s breath until the last moments, aiming to secure advanced positions to win the financial prizes offered to the top five positions.

The results saw Abdulrahman Al Kubaisi securing fifth place, while Mohammed Al Farhan settled for fourth place in this round, having finished the previous round on the third podium.

The first place for this round went to Saud Al Kuwari, earning the prize allocated for this position valued at QR10,000, while Rashid Al Banna secured second place and a prize of QR15,000.

As for the top spot on the podium, it went once again for the second consecutive round to Saoud Al Marri, who managed to accumulate the highest number of points, winning the title of the round and a prize of QR20,000.

At the end of the competitions, His Excellency Sheikh Jabor bin Khalid Al Thani, Director of Qatar Racing Club, crowned the top three winners, thus concluding the events of the fifth and final round of the championship and drawing the curtain on the club’s last tournaments. However, the events continue as the club announced the opening of the motocross track for the racers next Friday in the morning session, followed by the opening of the showground on the same day in the evening session.
