QATAR Social Work Foundation represented by Orphans Care Center (Dreama) and family consulting center (Wifaq) celebrated the Qatari Family Day, which corresponds to April 15 every year.
The State annually celebrates this day, where the national development strategy has paid great attention to the family as the primary and fundamental building block of society. The advancement of societies can only be achieved through the advancement of the family, and this can only happen by consolidating all community efforts to support families, take care of them, and protect their security and stability to contribute in building a secure and stable family capable of meeting the challenges in Qatari society.
Dreama participated in the Family Day event in Qatar through a booth in Medina Centrale - The Pearl-Qatar, which offered a variety of activities for children, such as design and making of colourful bracelets. After completing the bracelets, the children gave them to their mothers. In addition, they designed awareness cards carrying messages of love, loyalty and cohesion among family members. They also tried solving a puzzle through which they discovered the orphans who made history and left their imprint on society and the world.
Dreama also participated in the activities of Family Day in Qatar through the social media, as well as lighting the Dreama building in green.
Dreama Executive Director Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser al Missned stressed the importance of Dreama's participation in the Family Day celebrations in Qatar and said,"We are keen on the vital and important role of the family in caring for and empowering our children at Dreama. One of the functions of Dreama is to focus on the importance of creating a suitable alternative environment for the care of the target groups. We also periodically follow up on the situation of target groups living in alternative foster families in accordance with the regulations, conditions, standards and controls in the centre. Among our services is to follow-up children in families to ensure their integration into foster homes."
"We also focus on our awareness campaigns throughout the year on educating the community on the importance of embracing the families of Dreama children and integrating them into society," she added.
