Qatar participated in the first high-level Global Roundtable on ICT Security Capacity-Building at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Friday.
Qatar’s delegation was headed by President of the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) Engineer Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki.
Speaking during the main panel discussion on ‘Building Cyber Resilience for Sustainable Development by Bridging the Global Capacity Gap’, Malki emphasised Qatar’s readiness to share its expertise in building capabilities at the national level.
He also participated in the first sub-session entitled ‘Enhancing Governance Policies and Processes’ as an official speaker during which he highlighted Qatar’s experience in developing national strategies.
The high-level meeting was attended by senior officials from the United Nations Member States concerned with the field of ICT security, and a number of representatives from countries to the United Nations. The meeting focused on unifying efforts and visions to enhance international capabilities in information security and cyber security.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Malki met with Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Her Excellency Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani.
He also conducted bilateral meetings with heads of cyber security entities in both Jordan and Singapore with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation in relevant fields.
