A colourful ceremony marked the launch of the 12-over-a-side ISC-Gulf Lights Inter-Organisation Cricket Tournament at the Old Ideal Indian School ground.
In all, 12 teams are contesting in the tournament, organised by the Indian Sports Centre, an apex body of Indian embassy.
The participating teams are: Engineer Forum, Tulukoota, TRAQ, QDC, SKMWA, QTS, UTKALIKA, KMCA, MEDGULF, PAI, MMQ and ICAI.
The chief guest at the opening ceremony was title sponsor Gulf Lights' Managing Director Sanaullah Abdulrehman. Also present on the occasion were heads of all participating teams, Azim Abbas (Chairman Patron Council & Head of Cricket), Mohd Habibun Nabi (ISC General secretary), Deepak Shetty (Tournament Coordinator), Simon D'Souza (ISC-head of Indoor Games) and Nisha Agarwal (Yoga Head).
Azim Abbas welcome all the guests, while the chief guest extended his best wishes to all teams. Vote of thanks was proposed by Deepak Shetty.
TRAQ and QDC won their respective matches on the opening day. Everyday two matches will be played, while the final is scheduled on April 27. On the same day, the annual festival match between Ambassador XI and Community XI will also be played at the venue at 7.30 pm. Many attractive raffle draws prizes will be given to fans, according to ISC General Secretary Mohd Habibun Nabi.
