INDIAN movie superstar Shah Rukh Khan criss-crossed the GCC from Dubai to Kuwait city to Doha on Thursday, bringing smiles on the faces of one and all.
The 'Badshaah of Bollywood' inaugurated three Kalyan Jewellers showrooms in three different GCC cities on a single day making it a historic occasion for the Kalyan Jewellers' Group.
In Doha, the Khan fever gripped the fans who in their thousands started streaming into the Lulu Hypermarket parking area from early evening.
Delayed by a sandstorm in Kuwait city, SRK arrived late in the evening. But, he didn't disappoint the gathering. Excited fans went berserk jostling one another to catch a glimpse of their favourite actor.
Besides shaking a leg to his movie songs and flooring the crowd with his super-hit dialogues, the Indian film icon took selfies and completely mesmerized the young and old with his friendly aura and elegant on-stage performance.
SRK was accompanied by Kalyan Jewellers Chairman and Managing Director TS Kalyanaraman and executive directors Rajesh Kalyanaraman and Ramesh Kalyanaraman for the inauguration ceremony.
Other special guests included Ambassador of India to Qatar HE P Kumaran, CEO of Doha Bank R Seetharaman, Brigadier Nasser al Darwish of Ministry of Interior and several Qatari nationals.
Earlier, TV anchor and actor Midhun from Kerala kept the well-behaved international audience engaged with entertaining acts, even as the 'Don' and 'Dilwale' of Bollywood was on his way from Kuwait city.
At the event, the King Khan 'digitally' inaugurated the Kalyan Jewellers showroom from a makeshift platform, leaving the venue after his blockbuster guest appearance exactly the way he entered with a thunderbolt of breathtaking energy! Speaking about the grand opening, Chairman and Managing Director of Kalyan Jewellers, TS Kalyanaraman, said:"It is a very exciting moment for us as we have opened a new showroom in Doha.
