Ahead of his participation in the prestigious Wanda Diamond League, Indian javelin sensation Neeraj Chopra took time to engage with the press at the OMEGA Boutique in Doha.

The event, held at the OMEGA Boutique in Doha Festival City, saw Chopra, the first Indian track and field athlete to secure Olympic gold, expressing his enthusiasm for his new role as brand ambassador for OMEGA.

Chopra, whose remarkable throw of 89.94 meters at the Wanda Diamond League Stockholm in 2022 stands as his personal best, was warmly welcomed by the OMEGA team. Sporting his preferred timepiece, the OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra ultra-light, Chopra lauded OMEGA's historic ties with the Olympics and its precision in timing, drawing parallels with the meticulousness required in his sport.

"This is my first year as the brand ambassador of OMEGA. I am fond of OMEGA because of its association with the Olympics and its connection to the moon landing," said Chopra during the media interaction. "OMEGA also works very hard with timing, especially with its distance measuring machine."

Expressing his anticipation for the Doha Diamond League, Chopra emphasised its significance as his season opener. "Last year, I opened my season here. This is a perfect competition for all javelin athletes as they start their season from Doha," he remarked. "However, the main focus this year is the Paris Olympics. If I throw well here, it will help me in Paris."

Offering advice to budding athletes, Chopra emphasized dedication, patience, and self-belief. "Whatever you do, do it 100 percent and have patience and believe in yourselves," he encouraged.

Reflecting on his training regime for the Paris Olympics, Chopra pledged his utmost effort to bring glory to his country. "I am training very hard for the Paris Olympics, and I will do my best to throw my best and win laurels for my country," he affirmed.

Chopra also spoke highly of Qatar's burgeoning stature as a sporting hub. "Qatar has world-class sporting facilities for athletes. They not only invest money in sports but also sports persons. This is very good for sportspersons in Qatar," he acknowledged.

Chopra expressed his positivity about partnering with OMEGA, noting the synergy between athletes' dedication to improvement and OMEGA's commitment to innovation. "It's a very positive feeling to get associated with OMEGA as athletes need a lot of practice to fine-tune themselves, in the same way, OMEGA keeps on improving itself," he concluded.

With his sights set on the Paris Olympics and the ongoing Wanda Diamond League, Neeraj Chopra's partnership with OMEGA symbolizes his journey toward excellence on the global stage of athletics.
