DOHA: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for strong winds and high seas offshore, expected on Saturday. According to the daily weather report, inshore conditions will start with some clouds, becoming hot during the day with occasional blowing dust in certain areas.

Offshore, the weather will initially be scattered with clouds but will clear up later. However, mariners are advised to be cautious as strong northwesterly winds are predicted, with speeds ranging from 10 to 20 knots and gusts reaching up to 28 knots.

Inshore winds will also be northwesterly to northerly, blowing at 8 to 18 knots and gusting up to 27 knots in some locations. Visibility inshore is expected to be between 4 to 8 kilometers, while offshore visibility will range from 5 to 9 kilometers.

The sea state inshore will vary from 2 to 4 feet, possibly rising to 5 feet. Offshore, wave heights will be between 3 to 6 feet, potentially surging to 9 feet. The Department of Meteorology advises those at sea to take necessary precautions due to the hazardous conditions.
