The Centre for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan) and the Regional Consulting Network, member of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, have signed a memorandum of joint cooperation to serve the elderly.
The agreement aims at enhancing the role of Ehsan in enhancing recognition of the role of the elderly and their contributions to social, economic and cultural development. It will also empower them and support their active participation in all fields, spreading community awareness of their rights and basic issues, working to achieve communication between generations, and emphasising the role of the family in caring for them and reducing shelter.
Ehsan and the Regional Consultation Network seek, through the memorandum of cooperation, to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between them, achieve common goals to support the beneficiary groups and empower them in the best possible ways, strengthen the ties of cooperation between the two parties, and provide appropriate services to the elderly.
The terms of the memorandum included cooperation and participation between the two parties, each according to its specialisations, and they are doing everything in their power to implement the provisions of this memorandum in order to activate the partnership between them for the benefit of the elderly in Qatar, through cooperation between them in the field of providing advisory services.
The agreement aims at Implementing training programmes and specialised workshops and contributing to obtaining an accredited certificate in social responsibility applications in the field of elderly care, and cooperating between them in the field of exchanging experiences and striving to implement social responsibility initiatives.
Regarding this memorandum, Executive Director of Ehsan Manal Ahmed Al Mannai said that the Centre pays great attention to creating partnerships and consolidating the bonds of cooperation with all parties in the country due to its firm belief that these partnerships and cooperation will benefit the target groups and in turn expand the scope of its services and goals to the largest segment of community members.
She said that this memorandum comes to serve the elderly, especially related to areas of social responsibility, which would contribute to instilling awareness and educating the elderly in everything related to social responsibility by benefiting from the programmes and workshops presented by the centre to its target group, in cooperation with the network.
For his part, General Director of the Regional Network for Consultations and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility Professor Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Ibrahim said: "Through the cooperation agreement, we are keen to harness the professional expertise possessed by this specialised institution for the benefit of supporting the Ehsan to achieve its goals based on a professional cognitive structure.”
"We are keen to activate its provisions in a way that benefits building distinguished human and institutional capabilities in the areas of social responsibility for the elderly sector in the country,” said Al-Ibrahim.
