QATAR University (QU) and Social Development Centre (NAMA) signed an agreement to increase cooperation in various fields that serve the society and enhance the capabilities of its citizens.
The agreement was signed by QU Vice-President (Student Affairs) Dr Khalid al Khanji and NAMA Executive Director Dr Maryam Abdullatif al Mannai in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.
Khanji said that the agreement will help QU students in many ways, giving them the opportunity to benefit from the experience of this prestigious national institution in the fields of leadership, volunteerism and sports, as well as in the field of entrepreneurship.
He pointed out that QU and NAMA Center will complement each other in these fields in order to serve the country and achieve the university's strategy to support students in all fields.
Mannai said that the agreement covers financial assistance, voluntary work, community service, student social entrepreneurship, social leadership, entrepreneurship, sports activities and everything related to community initiatives, projects and programmes available at NAMA Center for QU students.
She pointed out that this cooperation allows the two sides to benefit from each other's experiences and potentials in the field of community service and development. The agreement will result in a distinguished community work, full of events, programmes and activities that serve the local community inside and outside the University, she hoped.
The agreement also seeks to activate the principle of community partnership to contribute to raising the enrollment rate in the University, improve the level of education for students facing financial difficulties, activating the role of student leaders through various activities organised by them and cooperating in the implementation of training programmes specialising in skills and knowledge, workshops for guiding entrepreneurs, and other related fields.
