The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), a key institution under the Qatar Foundation for Social Work and affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Qatar Institute for Speech & Hearing (QISH).

The agreement was signed by Sheikh Dr Nasser bin Ahmed Al Thani, executive director of Aman, and Essa Abdulla H A Al-Mannai, chairman of QISH.

This partnership aims to enhance the quality of services provided to women, children and victims of family disintegration and violence.

QISH, licensed by the Ministry of Public Health since 2011, offers comprehensive services for people with disabilities, including speech and language therapy, behavioural therapy, special education, audiology services, occupational and physical therapy, and early intervention programmes.

Sheikh Dr Nasser bin Ahmed Al Thani highlighted that the agreement will facilitate the exchange of expertise and information, focusing on innovation and the development of awareness programmes and training workshops for social protection workers. This will significantly enhance the support provided to beneficiaries, particularly those in Aman Center’s shelter facilities.

Essa Abdulla H A Al-Mannai expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, noting its role in complementing QISH’s mission to raise awareness and provide services to the Qatari community and residents. The collaboration aims to amplify efforts in the protection and rehabilitation of children facing various challenges impacting their development, he said.

In addition to this strategic partnership, Aman has launched a newly designed website, reflecting its dedication to continuous improvement and better service delivery. The new site features a modern, user-friendly interface designed to meet the needs of the centre’s target groups, including women and children affected by violence and family disintegration.

Sheikh Dr Nasser bin Ahmed Al Thani underscored the importance of maintaining a comprehensive and accessible online presence. The website includes detailed information about Aman’s services and initiatives, disseminates awareness messages quarterly, and keeps the public informed about the centre’s activities, events and collaborations. The public can access a 24/7 hotline service (919) for immediate support.
