Al Riyadi of Lebanon have qualified for the semi-finals of the second edition of the FIBA West Asia Super League ‘Final 8’ after achieving a well-deserved 95-86 victory over their compatriot and traditional rivals Sagesse in Group A of the tournament at the Lusail Multipurpose Hall on Tuesday.
The round also witnessed defending champions Manama of Bahrain, bid farewell to the tournament after receiving their second defeat in a row, losing to Kazakhstan’s BC Astana 117-122 with two overtime periods to decide the result after the regulation time ended in a draw (81-81). Manama lost in the opening round to Lebanese Sagesse 82-95.
