Mowasalat (Karwa) bagged two honorary awards during a ceremony held by the leading Chinese bus manufacturer, Higer Bus Company, at its 6th Overseas Business Conference 2018, in Suzhou city, China.
A delegation from Mowasalat management attended the conference, where Mowasalat received two prestigious awards: 'Outstanding Contribution Award' and 'Excellent Service Station Award'. Khalid Kafoud, Mowasalat Government Relations Manager, received the awards on behalf of the company.
Kafoud, highlighted during his speech at the conference, on the phenomenal growth of operations and fleet strength of Mowasalat till it reached what it is today, as the company moves on to accomplish Qatar's Ministry of Transport and Communications and the national vision.
Mowasalat received the awards owing to the important role it played during its strategic collaboration with the Chinese Higer Bus Company for more than 12 years all that contributed to the rise of Higer, and the capability of Mowasalat (Karwa) to provide efficient and excellent after-sales services, which satisfied its customers at all levels. In addition, Mowasalat has established bus maintenance and services facilities, and hired skilled workforce and engineers who took training from OEM contractors, such as Higer, the major supplier of bus fleet.
The strategic collaboration between the two companies culminated in the agreement to establish Karwa Motors plant (a subsidiary of Mowasalat 'Karwa' and Oman Investment Fund) in a joint venture to establish a bus assembly plant in Duqm, Sultanate of Oman. The ground breaking for this project was set last year, and Karwa Motors is to start production by the end of 2019, which will cater to the needs of the two countries and the region.
