Souq Waqif, in association with the Embassy of India in Doha, is organising a 10-day-long Indian Mango Festival, also known as the Al-Hamba Exhibition.
This vibrant and flavourful event is set to begin on May 30 at the sprawling Eastern Square of Souq Waqif. The festival aims to celebrate the rich and diverse varieties of Indian mangoes and mango-based products, offering a unique experience for all mango enthusiasts.
The Indian Mango Festival will feature an extensive display and sale of numerous types of Indian mangoes and mango products by Indian importers, exporters, restaurants, and cafes. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample and purchase some of the most renowned mango varieties from India, including Rajapuri, Malgova, Neelam, Alphonso, Kesar, Badami, Mallika, Imam Pasand, Kalapadi, Totapuri, Senthooram, and many more. These varieties, known for their unique flavours, textures, and aromas, are sure to delight mango lovers of all ages.
The festival will also offer a wide range of mango products, such as mango ice cream, juices, pickles, cakes, and various other food items prepared using mangoes.
This diverse array of products will highlight the culinary versatility of mangoes and provide a delicious exploration of mango-based cuisine. Visitors will get an opportunity to indulge in a variety of mango-based dishes and delicacies, showcasing the versatility and rich flavours of this beloved fruit.
In addition to fresh Indian mangoes, the festival will highlight a selection of fresh seasonal fruits from India, providing a broader taste of the country’s horticultural bounty. The festival will be officially inaugurated on May 30 at 4.30pm. The event will welcome visitors daily from 4pm to 9pm, running through June 8.
