Qatar Museums (QM) unveiled displays at Place Vendôme in Lusail as part of Art for Stories – a new initiative to engage the public with QM’s diverse collection and the stories that exist within it.

On view from the Museum of Islamic Art’s (MIA) collection are some of its most prized artefacts, including a gem-set enamelled gold falcon, steel war mask and astrolabe. On each display plinth is a prompt, asking visitors to reflect on the piece and inviting them to scan a QR code to learn more.

Shaika Al Nassr, director of the Museum of Islamic Art, said: “Art of Stories is an excellent way to generate more awareness around our magnificent collection and share it with the wider public outside of the museum’s walls. We are proud to be partnering with Place Vendôme in this exciting new initiative, which will undoubtedly inspire everyone to come and explore what we have on offer.”

Carole Sabbagha, mall manager of Place Vendôme, said: “In an unprecedented collaboration with Qatar Museums, we at Place Vendôme Qatar are proud to present this exhibition, marking a special debut of Qatar Museums artifacts extending their presence beyond their usual limitations and boundaries to exclusively adorn Place Vendôme for three months.

“This initiative not only underscores the strength of our enduring partnership with Qatar Museums, but also epitomises our steadfast commitment to fostering cultural enrichment within our community. We extend our deepest appreciation to the Qatar Museums leadership for their visionary support and entrusting us with this extraordinary opportunity.”
