The Qatar national football team moved to an impressive 35th place in the in the FIFA global rankings for June, released on Thursday having garnered 1504.06 points.

The latest rankings also see Morocco climb to 12th position. With 1669.44 points, the Atlas Lions retain their top spot in Africa, surpassing Senegal which now sit at 18th with 1623.34 points.

Morocco's dominance extends to the Arab region as well.

World champions Argentina remain top of the men's world rankings going into their Copa America title defence.

Argentina top an unchanged top three ahead of France and Belgium. Brazil moved into fourth at the expense of England, followed by Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain and European champions Italy who moved one up into ninth ahead of Croatia.

Liberia were the biggest climbers, up 10 to 142nd as 187 matches were played since the last rankings, most notably World Cup qualifiers in Africa and Asia.

More changes are expected in the next rankings, with Euro 2024 having started and the Copa America to kick off later on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Japan lead the Asian continent rankings, being the 17th position.
