Chantilly (France)

After a promising debut when winning the Prix Norniz (PA) last month, the three-year-old Mureb (Gazwan) improved to win the Gr.2 (PA) Qatar Coupe de France des Chevaux Arabes, sponsored by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), at Chantilly on Wednesday.

Owned and bred by Al Asayl France and trained by François Rohaut, the Purebred Arabian gelding was having his second start of his life career. The homebred is now a Gr.2 (PA) winner and looks to have a bright future.

Ridden by Anthony Crastus, Mureb travelled well behind the leader Safre Tourettes (Mister Ginoux). Entering the home straight, Mureb tried to make headway on the inside of the leader, but the gap quickly closed and the gelding dropped to last. Once in the clear, Mureb shown a devastating turn of foot once to beat Al Jori (Al Mamun Monlau) by half a length. Wasib (No Risk Al Maury) took third.

Bred by Al Asayl France, Mureb is out of Manisha(Darike).
