The 10-day Al Hamba Festival, organised by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office in cooperation with the Embassy of Pakistan, commenced at Souq Waqif on Thursday.
The festival, offering a wide variety of Pakistani mangoes is being held from June 27 until July 6 and will be open for the public from 4pm to 9pm daily.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Ambassador Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fakhro, Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar HE Muhemmed Aejaz, Managing Director of Private Engineering Office HE Nasser Rashid Al Nuaimi, and General Supervisor of the festival Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi.
Trade and Investment Attaché at the Pakistan Embassy Serein Asad was also present on the occasion.
The highly anticipated event aims to promote cultural exchange and strengthen ties between the two brotherly countries through the universal language of food. The event will showcase different varieties and diverse flavours of Pakistani mangoes, exquisite and unique in their flavour, aroma and richness. In addition to mango varieties like Sidhri, Chaunsa, Safeed Chaunsa, Anwar Ratool, and Duseri, the festival is featuring seasonal fruits like falsa, jamun, and peaches.
The event is set to delight mango enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Local restaurants and cafés are participating in the event, offering a diverse menu that celebrates the culinary heritage of Pakistan. With more than 43 companies and around 100 outlets participating, the offering is a veritable feast for Qatar’s residents.
