The much-awaited Philippine ‘Makulay ang Kalayaan’ (Colorful Freedom) 2024 Celebrations due to open on June 27, have been rescheduled to July 5, at the Ezdan Palace Hotel.

The three-day event is being organised by Kobeco Concept & Creative Event Management Services in partnership with the Oryx Knights Eagles Club as the Filipino community lead.

The organisers have announced attendance confirmation of government and business leaders, as well as pioneering attractions during the event.

In a public advisory, following statement was released by the organising committee:

“It is with further regret to inform everyone that despite all last-minute efforts, the MOC has ruled to postpone our Makulay Ang Kalayaan Celebrations by another week due to further clarifications that they needed from their end. Thus compelling us to move to July 5th 2024.

“As we are equally dumbfounded with this very unfortunate event, our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all who went to great lengths just to make this event a success as we pray that you all remain until we finally push through.

Though this is truly beyond our control, we are left with no other recourse but to appeal for everyone’s understanding as we are very sorry for all inconveniences caused beyond the frustration.

“Full documentation of the event permit process including compliance notices and initial rejections despite our utmost diligence and proactiveness is available at the Creative-Kobeco offices for those who wish to examine them.

“Despite the financial losses of our event company partner, we are prepared to refund those who wish to cancel though we hope that everyone remains onboard in good faith. Feel free to call 60008645 for clarification.

To avoid further frustrations whilst preserving public confidence, we shall announce the new event details once we are already in possession of the relevant permits.

“Hanggang sa muli, ang aming taos-pusong paghingi ng paumanhin at

pasasalamat. (Until next time, our sincere apologies and thanks).”

It was earlier announced that in addition to the unprecedented gala night on the first day and the enhanced cultural pageants during the full-day activities on the second day, a special town hall forum on the event’s education initiatives will be the highlight on the third day of the Makulay ang Kalayaan Celebrations.

As Filipino communities in the Middle East continue to grow and thrive and to address the school demand of the increasing number of Filipino expatriate families in Qatar, a new beacon of academic excellence and innovation emerges with the launch of Superfuture Academy Next Generation School Management (Superfuture Academy) in partnership with the Cambridge Schools in Qatar in opening its doors this school year to Filipino students from Nursery to Senior High School.

Cambridge School’s excellent facilities will be hosting this groundbreaking educational platform dedicated to providing an exceptional learning experience tailored to Filipino families’ unique needs and aspirations, blending rich traditions of rigorous academics with the latest in teaching methodologies.

“We are excited to introduce Superfuture, The Next Generation School Management, where our mission is to provide an education that not only prepares students for academic success but also equips them with the skills and values necessary for a lifetime of achievement and fulfillment,” says Jeniffer Marie Tungol, Founder and CEO of Superfuture Academy by Superfuture Ventures Limited UK.

“We invite Filipino families and educators in the Middle East to join us on this journey of discovery, achievement, and transformation. Superfuture Academy is founded on the belief that every student, regardless of their background, has the potential to achieve greatness. This vision is

brought to life through a meticulously crafted curriculum from early childhood to pre-university levels, ensuring a comprehensive and seamless educational journey. Each student’s path is personalized, focusing on nurturing individual talents and fostering intellectual curiosity,” Tungol added.

The event’s community organising chairman Joseph Timothy Rivera, Dhum hc was grateful that the Cambridge School’s partnership with Superfuture Academy in providing Filipino subjects in addition to the school’s excellent international baccalaureate curriculum will not only address the current shortage of Filipino classrooms in Doha but will certainly offer more options for the Pinoy learners in Qatar.

“We are honoured to host this forum during our auspicious event as I look forward to this school’s further

adaptation of the norms and practices of the Philippine education system,” Rivera added.

The event’s executive director Kamila Bellamlih was happy to announce her confidence that with its launch, Cambridge Schools in Qatar and Superfuture Academy, will set a new standard in education, offering an exceptional learning environment where Filipino students in the Middle East can thrive.

Rivera encouraged the attending Filipino community to register their attendance and come early to avail of the chance to win a round-trip air ticket to Manila by flag-carrier Philippine Airlines.

A 4-day/3-night wellness holiday will also be awarded by leading Philippine developer SMDC to lucky guests as well as gift hampers for youngsters courtesy of Lulu Hypermarket.

Beneficiaries of the Makulay ang Kalayaan 2024 Celebrations include Filipino children with cancer patients in Qatar, the CSR programs of the Filipino Association of Manpower Services in

Qatar (FAMS) and the First 1,000 Days (F1KD) of a Child program in collaboration with the Fraternal Order of Eagles- Philippine Eagles (TFOE-PE).
