Doha Toastmasters Club (DTC), Qatar’s first Toastmasters club, marked another key moment in its history with a special oath-taking ceremony. The event featured the installation of new office-bearers for the year, led by Immediate Past President Nagaraja S Mannem, who conducted the ceremony in his distinctive and memorable style.
Kesavaraj Sampath Kumar took the presidential oath and announced the new slogan for the year, ‘Together We Educate, Empower and Elevate’.
Unaise Eranju (VP of Education), Aymen Kharal (VP of Membership), Harini Mahesh (VP of Public Relations), Shivani Gaur (Secretary), Priyanka Singh (Treasurer), Prashanth S Krishnamoorthy (Sergeant at Arms), and Namrata Tawde (Immediate Past President) were also sworn into their respective roles. Badges were pinned by incoming Area 1 Director Atul Hardas, Nagaraja S Mannem, Sunil Kumar Menon, Jayakumar Menon, Suresh Kumar Kalathil, Khalid Abu Hammad, and Muhammad Zubair.
The meeting, with the theme ‘Legacy’, was masterfully hosted by Toastmaster of the Day, Sundaravadivelu Anbazhagan, who left a lasting impression with his insights. General Evaluator Vaishali Mehra provided candid and effective evaluations, while Table Topic Master Milton Swaminathan engaged attendees with intriguing topics. The speakers and evaluators of the day were remarkable, showcasing the club’s high standards.
A highlight of the evening was the announcement that Rajeswar Sundaresan (Past Region Advisor) has been honoured with the prestigious Presidential Citation Award for 2024. He will receive the award at the Toastmasters International Annual Conference 2024 in the US. This marks the third time a member of the Doha Toastmasters Club has received this distinguished recognition, swelling the club with pride.
It was a ‘Light, Camera, Action’ evening that reminded the officers to stay focused on their duty, capture good times and learn from challenges which are the traits that have kept the club always in the spotlight.
