The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has launched the traffic ticket issuance service via Metrash2 application through which the citizens can return to Qatar in case of expiration, loss, or damage of passports or IDs during their stay outside the country.

Director of the MoI's Nationality and Travel Documents Department, Brigadier Hamad Abdulwahab Al Mutawa, affirmed that the new service comes as part of the constant upgradation of the MoI's electronic services to streamline the procedures and avoid hard slog, highlighting that the new service has been launched in collaboration with the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the diplomatic missions abroad.

Brigadier Al Mutawa pointed out that the service helps the citizens apply for online traffic ticket with easy-to-digest steps via Metrash2 application around the clock, whether for applicants or their family members, highlighting that the ticket is issued within minutes and is sent via email without the need to visit embassies and consulates abroad.

He urged the citizens to essentially ensure the validity of their passports prior to their departure and preserve them from potential loss, theft, or damage, underlining that the current traffic ticket would be available through the diplomatic missions of the State of Qatar abroad, should they encounter any problems of accessing Metrash2 application, in addition to addressing the needs of special cases such as births outside the country to ensure the required documentation is verified for processing.
