High jump Olympic and world star Mutaz Essa Barshim will be leading Qatar’s athletics squad at the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, it was announced by the Qatar AthleticsFederation (QAF). The Olympics are to be held from July 26 to August 11. Apart from Barshim, who won men’s high jump gold at Tokyo 2020 and two silver at London 2012 & Rio 2016, 800m athlete Abubakar Haydar Abdallah, 400m hurdles star Abderrahman Samba, and 400m runners Bassem Hameeda, Ismail Dawoud, and sprinter Shahad Mohammed, who will be making her women’s 100m debut, form Qatar’s athletics team for the quadrennial Games.
