Hamad International Airport’s (HIA) ENJAZ candidates successfully completed a three-week training programme at the Munich Airport Academy, the internationally recognised training division of Munich Airport.

Ten nationals from the ENJAZ Advanced division were selected to attend an in-depth training which included airport operations, management, infrastructure, safety and security amongst other airport-related topics.

ENJAZ, which was introduced in 2020, is aimed towards nurturing and growing Qatari talent to become the future leaders in the aviation industry and is in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 - Human Development Pillar.

In line with Hamad International Airport’s commitment to fostering relationships in the aviation industry and its longstanding partnership with Munich Airport International (MAI), the consulting subsidiary of Munich Airport, the three-week programme hosted at Munich Airport Academy, offered a combination of theory sessions and practical on-the-job experience, led by subject matter experts and senior management from Munich Airport, Munich Airport Academy and MAI.

The candidates were immersed into a tailored training programme that introduced the operations and functions of an airport city, new culture and environment, different airport business models and all facets of the aviation industry.

Ahmed Essa Al Baker, manager of National Development & Employee Engagement, who also leads the ENJAZ Programme at Hamad International Airport, said: “The ENJAZ programme is a key pillar of the overall Hamad International Airport Talent Development Strategy, which has made a significant investment in developing Qatari talent. Through the 360-learning journey on an international scale, we are showcasing our commitment in building the capabilities of nationals, who will lead the future of the aviation industry with the right knowledge, skills and experience.”

The ENJAZ Programme at Hamad International Airport include two divisions - ‘Essential’ and ‘Advanced’ that are focused on technical, managerial and leadership skills that will support the growth of the national employees, build their capabilities and provide the tools for them to excel in their careers.

The ‘Essential’ development plan is a one-year course which supports the individuals’ current function in the organisation through functional training, shared knowledge and provides a managerial foundation training.

The ‘Advanced’ plan is a one-year course and is tailored towards preparing the candidates towards senior management roles, therefore focusing on honing managerial and leadership skills through on-the-job training and coaching, locally and internationally.

As the World’s Best Airport, awarded by SKYTRAX World Airport Awards, Hamad International Airport continues to invest in upskilling its national taken of over 150, to coincide with a growing and evolving industry.
