ASTANA: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has met with President of the friendly Russian Federation HE Vladimir Putin on the margin of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The meeting focused on the two countries' relations and ways to promote and develop them in different spheres. The two sides also exchanged viewpoints on matters of mutual interest, especially the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Eng Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi attended the meeting.On the Russian side, the meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov,Russian Presidential Foreign Policy Advisor Yuri Ushakov along with several senior officials.
