The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met on Thursday with President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The meeting focused on the bilateral relations between the two countries and the ways to promote and develop them in different spheres. The two sides also exchanged viewpoints on matters of mutual interest, especially the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani; Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Eng Saad Sherida Al Kaabi; and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi attended the meeting.
On the Russian side, the meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Russian President’s Foreign Policy Advisor Yuri Ushakov, along with a number of senior officials.
