Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani has praised the relations between Qatar and Poland as historic and strong.
He said that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Poland is very important to advance joint cooperation in many sectors, and it is considered an opportunity to discuss areas of cooperation in sectors that provide added value to the two countries in the coming period.
While describing the relations between the two countries as strong and distinguished, he noted that an agreement to supply gas to Warsaw was signed in 2017, with Qatar covering one third of Poland's needs for liquefied natural gas.
The volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached QR9.3 billion in 2022 because of an increase in Qatar's gas exports, he added.
He also stressed the importance of enhancing partnership opportunities between the private sectors in the two countries and building cooperation relations that are not limited to the two countries but extend beyond that to their regional and international spheres.
Considering Poland as the gateway to Eastern Europe, Sheikh Faisal said that Poland is an important country overlooking the Baltic Sea and will contribute to diversifying Qatar's foreign investments. Therefore, the Qatar-Poland Business Council works to exchange information and study available investment opportunities, especially in the fields of technology, agriculture, and health care.
