France teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe deserves a round of applause. The 19-year old forward, who was sold to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from Monaco in the 2017 summer transfer window for £166million, became the most expensive teenager in football. But the youngster has won hearts for his massive gesture at the ongoing World Cup in Russia.
According to French daily L'Equipe, Mbappe is donating his entire World Cup match fees to charity because he feels he should not be paid to play for his country.
Mbappe is a patron of the Preiers de Cordees association, a charity which helps organise sports activities for children with disabilities.
Mbappe's match fee amounts to £17,000-per-game (plus bonuses on top) and he is giving everything away to charity.
It is understood he will be in line for a bumper bonus of £265,000 if France win the World Cup this summer.
Mbappe's generosity is said to have influenced his France team-mates with Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti stating:"When playing a World Cup, it's a pleasure, because it's a dream come true.
"Yes, here is money at stake. But I do not care. I do not play for that."
The PSG was in brilliant form for France in their 4-2 win against Argentina in the Round of 16 last Saturday, bagging a brace.
