The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Building Permits Complex Department, has announced the launch of the first edition of the requirements and services guide for the building permit system in Qatar 2022. This comes with aim to introduce the list of engineering documents and requirements, and the necessary permits from other service authorities when submitting building applications. The third edition of the Building Requirements Guide for the State of Qatar was also issued after adding a number of improvements and updates to be available in the buildings.Engineer Saad Abdul Karim Al Qahtani, director of the Building Permits Complex Department at the Ministry of Municipality, said that the launch of the first edition of the requirements and services guide for building licences in Qatar, and the issuance of the third edition of the construction requirements guide for Qatar, comes as part of the directives of Minister of Municipality HE Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie to conduct the periodic update on the requirements of building permits to keep pace with the urban development in the country and to meet the needs of developers, engineering consultancy offices and those interested in the field of building and construction.The launch is also a continuation of the development process in the ministry in all fields and the efforts of the development team that represents the various engineering disciplines in the ministry over four years since December 2018.He said the first version of the requirements and services guide for the building permits guide, which contains 403 pages divided into five chapters, is aimed at clarifying the list of documents, data and engineering drawings that must be attached when submitting applications, in addition to the other service bodies that are required to obtain permits and approvals, according to the types of buildings in the applications submitted through the electronic building permit system. He added that the guide also dealt with the types of buildings, whether they are residential, commercial, administrative, industrial or service buildings, their specifications, and the documents and data required for each building, stressing that the main reasons for rejection of building applications in the electronic building permit system were also clarified.Qahtani said that the third edition of the requirements manual dealt with several improvements and updates to the design and planning requirements that must be provided in buildings.
